building envelop

The building envelop is the combined building components which seal the building from external conditions (e.g., rain, relative humidity, wind, etc.).  Doors, windows, and walls are among the most obvious components which seal the building.  New flooring should not be installed until the building envelop is sealed and interior climate control has been normalized by the HVAC system for about a week or more.  New flooring cannot properly acclimate in an unsealed building wherein indoor conditions are volatile or are different than anticipated future conditions.
