bow defect

A bow is a type of manufacturing defect in printed, tufted, or woven flooring.  A bow defect is most commonly in sheet goods, such as broadloom carpet or sheet vinyl.  When goods have a bow, the pattern includes an arc.  A minor bow can be corrected by a skillful installer.  Although infrequent, a bow can also be created by a faulty installation.
