Durkan Patterned Carpet

Dukan Pattern Carpet is one of our finest manufacturers.  Their products are enjoyed in hotels, golf resorts, restaurants, entertainment centers, business centers, condominiums, and even distinguished homes throughout the United States and abroad. Durkan's parent company (viz., Mohawk) is the world's largest carpet manufacturer with annual sales of $4.6 billion.

Durkan specializes in patterned carpets offering four major categories: Custom Print, Quick Ship, Merit, and CYP. From these four categories and from their variety of face weights and constructions, the possibilities are limitless!

Custom Print.

The beauty of Durkan is their absolutely, unbelievable flexibility. Durkan has over 4,000 print patterns including geometric, floral, Oriental, medallions, and lots more.  Once you've selected a couple of patterns, we then assist you in picking from over 525 colors.  In minutes, we can merge the combinations for your approval.  Most of our customers want to add sophisticated borders to section out their large areas (e.g., ballrooms). Your borders can use the same colors as those used in the field.  Complex corner pieces are easily added to the borders.  As an alternative to Durkan's patterns, you may wish to use your custom logo or unique pattern if you're purchasing 1,000+ square yards. Production for custom products takes about 5-6 weeks. 

Quick Ship.

(nn., a type of print carpet). For those of you who have a shorter time horizon, we offer Durkan's Quick Ship product line including 80 styles. These are some of Durkan's most popular pattern's and color combinations. Three face weights are available: 24, 31, and 36 oz.  Durkan guarantees production of your selection within five business days. Shipping will take an additional 3-5 days. You may order as little as 40 or as many as 1,500 square yards per color.

Merit.

 Merit is Durkan's solution-dyed tufted carpet line. Merit is designed more for use in guestrooms while Durkan Prints and Durkan CYP are for common areas. Merit has 14 running-line products which ship from stock with a 100 square yard minimum order. Ounce weights on running-line products vary from 26 - 33 ounces.  Merit's custom solution-dyed products are available in 1/10 gauge cut graphics, 1/10 gauge enhanced loop, 1/10 gauge level loop, 1/10 gauge servo loop, 1/8 gauge PCU, and 1/8 gauge scroll. Minimums square yardage varies depending upon the machine.

CYP.

 Durkan CYP%trade;(Computer Yarn Placement) offers greater performance and design flexibility. CYP comes with solution-dyed Zeftron 2000 nylon from BASF carrying a 10-year stain removal guarantee.  CYP carpet can take pattern repeats as large as 43 feet using the established patterns or your special pattern. This approach enables Durkan to create carpet with as many as six colors that looks like Axminster at a better price. CYP and CYP Textured (cut-uncut pile) are available in 42 oz. and 54 oz. constructions. The Computer Yarn Placement tufting process creates highly durable, intricately detailed, woven-look patterns.

Face Weights, Constructions, and Yarn.

 Face weights available are 24, 30, 31, 33, 35, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 45, 50, 52, and 54 ounces depending on the construction you select and the type of yarn you prefer. Durkan makes all three major construction styles: cut pile, loop pile, and cut-uncut pile. Yarn types include the 100% CF Durkron® Nylon, the 100% Spun Durkron® Nylon, and 80%-20% Wool Nylon Blend. The continuous filament (CF) and spun nylon are equal in quality, but spun nylon gives a bulkier appearance.  Carpets manufactured with Durkron® Nylon have built-in permanent static control to reduce static shock.  Likewise, Durashield® Fluorocarbon protection affords excellent soil hiding and removal characteristics.

Backings.

 There are four attached cushions available.  Among others, there is

.  Wolfe Flooring recommends that most customers purchase an attached cushion (as opposed to a separate cushion).  Attached cushions increase tuft-bind (the security of an individual strand) and simplifies the installation process thereby cutting cost.  Each of the cushions are Class I radiant panel products.  Likewise, each has less than a 350 Dm flaming/non flaming smoke density rating.

Process.

  The process is easy! We'll visit you with our samples and laptop.  Select a pattern or provide your own pattern. Select your colors. We'll provide you with a physical sample of your custom choice. After the order is placed, we can receive the carpet with a forklift, store the product, and coordinate a commercial dumpster (if needed) until the project is finished. Wolfe Flooring will make your Durkan purchase a turn-key solution.

Installation.

We are a preferred Durkan installation company (Member ID 3702). If you would like to purchase new carpet through Wolfe Flooring and have your own installation crew provide the installation, make sure the company is qualified to work with patterned goods such as these. Overconfidence can be a nightmare on goods of this quality.

It is easy to install carpet in an empty building; however, it is much more difficult to accomplish this in an occupied office building without losing one day of productivity of our staff.
